DFW Fabric Mart Inc. formerly known as Petra's Fabrics has been in business for over a decade. Petra started working in the fabric industry when she was 16 years old, first folding bolts of fabrics in a warehouse to eventually managing the fabric store where she was employed. Eventually her desire to grow the business was hindered by her employer and she decided to open her own store in 2012. With just her experience and determination, Petra was able to start her own business on Monroe Drive a couple of minutes from Perth Street. After finding stability in her business once again she faced another hardship, on October of 2018 a tornado struck DFW Fabric Mart Inc. forcing her to close and relocate momentarily. As tragic and unfortunate that incident was another obstacle emerged in March of 2019, the corona-virus pandemic. Despite all the misfortune that she had faced Petra was blessed with an opportunity, a location on Perth St. She signed a lease and moved immediately to the new location. Achieving her dream of returning to the fabric district as a business owner.
